busy busy busy....

I had a manic weekend but productive. I became a qualified first aider and bridal wear model. What has that got to do with yoga teacher trainer and helping others get a better life well…..

Me becoming a model… that was not supposed to happen! Circumstances dictated and needs as needs must and Angela received the call from hospital to take advantage of an operation to treat part of her Multiple Sclerosis symptoms. I met Paulina Bielecka at Croydon Enterprise, and she asked if I knew anybody in a wheelchair? – may be one or two dozen! She was fast approaching a dead line for the photo shoot she is was doing for Able Magazine. She wanted to be authentic but had great trouble finding a disabled model to promote her new business inspired by her own difficulties when looking for a wedding dress. The only authentic disable person available known to me available at such short notice was me. It was a challenge – not the posing as a model – I am a natural extravert. The challenge was accepting the disabled label so I could be a suitable replacement. The truth is I needed to sit and use the aids available after the long wait – Angela’s made to measure dress was not made to measure me and had to be adapted to my different size. It will be in July’s Able Magazine but Angela will have her day, I am determined!

I have to be a qualified first aider in order to become a fully qualified yoga teacher. Appointed Persons First Aid Certificate. (Valid for 3 years) - The day will be based on 'Experiential Learning and looks at all aspects of First Aid within the Yoga Classroom.

. It was a long journey to Weybridge required as part of teacher training but it was fun and useful experience and our tutor Michael Bond was an excellent teacher. Mike is a registered nurse who has taught First Aid for most of his 40-year career, he was a National Trainer with the British Army, a regional trainer for the Prison Service and at present teaches for his local Primary Care Trust. His First Aid days are based on Fun and experiential learning, his aim is to link First Aid to Anatomy and Physiology resulting in an understanding of why First Aid emergencies happen and how to react to them professionally. Mike Bond teaches the enormously popular course, First Aid for Yoga Teachers

Where was I last month? - Busy becoming a very young grandmother!
