Meeting at the Special Yoga centre

I’m really enjoying my yoga training experience. It’s not easy, but things that are worthwhile are easily. I’m managing my time better. I’m still attending all my classes at the Special Yoga Centre (SYC) as I continue with my pre-course reading. I’ve managed to continue with my studies and deal with my two wonderful teenagers.

I recently coordinated a meeting at the SYC with Clive and Eriko Mayhew, founders of http://yogaaid.com with Jo Manuel, from SYC and from Head Office MS Society, Trish Cunnison. The SYC has the facilities to train others to specialise in yoga for people with MS and yoga aid have advised they will help with the costs. Clive reiterates that i’ve inspired him with the Yoga 4 MS, group on Facebook in addition to my personal yoga teacher training.

I’m keen to accumulate the skills and become a qualified teacher. At last coffee morning my friends shared with me some of own unique MS symptoms and I empathise with each of their needs. Maybe I will be a better Yoga Teacher with my unique understanding of the challenges that MS. At the moment, until I qualify as a yoga teacher I’m happy to share my experience of how yoga has helped me, to give my friends hope.

  1. You will be a better yoga teacher for your own experiences with yoga helping you for sure! Hang in there Karen- the ups & downs seem less turbulent in time. I've found that we can teach others what tools will be helpful etc but it's ultimately their journey and they must be practiced. Keep at it & be kind to yourself & your body. Easier said- well yes- but it's worth the effort!
